ABOUT SOVAC
Visitors to our beautiful country have remarked that one can experience the whole world by merely traveling South Africa. From the biodiverse tropics of the Natal coast to the vastness and majesty of the Great Karoo – South Africa evokes emotions ranging from life in abundance to a humbling nothingness.
Frontier like prairie towns in the Small Karoo contrasts the gold reefs and hustle-and bustle of the Highveld- enticing gold seekers to yearn for more. Mountains shape our borders and give rise to the wonderful rivers that act as veins transporting our variety of cultures from east to west and giving everyone purpose in our combined effort of acceptance and rejuvenation. The magic that is Cape Town both calms and excites and provides a gateway to the world-renowned winelands of the Boland, Swartland and Route 62. From Sarie Marais to Ukuthula – we have it all.
THE CONCEPT
The landscape itself is reflected in its people. Our traditions, spirit, cultural richness, pride, and diversity is what makes the South African experience. Ubuntu is what inspires and conceptualises our products.
We are proud to present Southern Vernacular furniture, and because we love a lekker acronym we will stick to SOVAC furniture for short. Pieces as beautiful, unique, and resilient as South Africa and her people.
THE HIGHVELD RANGE
Reclaimed Timber finessed into subtle curves is defined by raw steel forged into straight lines. As simple and raw as the mines scattered across the Highveld. Intricacy and simplicity define this range, just as the simplicity of a mining skyline defines the Highveld to this day. We use Reclaimed materials as much as possible, taking the old and breathing new life and purpose into it, a purpose we share with urban rejuvenation.
